At the Puelo King Lodge you leave your comfort zone and are in the kingdom of the Puelo King. The intact, breathtaking nature offers active volcanoes, granite mountains, untouched valleys, wild lakes and river landscapes. This lodge is known for observing condors, the largest birds in South America, kingfishers and hummingbirds, the smallest birds in South America, large king salmon that have settled in the river systems of Patagonia Verde, salmon that have escaped from the Norwegian salmon farms along the Chilean coast and have grown into considerable salmon runs, even sea lions now hunt them in the rivers. Nature always found a way. Whale watching in the Reloncavi Fijord, horseback riding in the valleys of Patagonia Verde, climbing with local mountain guides on the granite walls of Cerro Trinidad, hiking to the summit of a volcano, the offer is extensive. Nearby you will find huge trees which, according to recent estimates, are up to 5400 years old.

Anyone who takes a trip to our incredible Rio Puelo will come home with unique experiences and some new skills. Our staff ensures that our guests enjoy every moment and keep them busy throughout their stay at our friendly Rio Puelo King Camp. To preserve the salmon stocks in the Rio Puelo, only catch and release is allowed.
​Fresh water Kings
Excursions to the Reloncavi Fjord, where kings, red snappers, halibuts can be found and where you can see humpback whales jumping. These whales are found in all the world's oceans and follow a predictable route to reproduce. One of the places where they like to stay for a while - from December to March - is the Chilean fjords. Their presence creates a magical atmosphere, surrounded by pristine forests, hanging glaciers and steep fjords.
